là où fait le temps allez...

quand son pas autour ici?

it got so late so fast... but look at wat we've done-

we started as a rag-tag bunch of photo[2] newbies, fresh as moonlight in a mountain dew. we looked at our lives- where we live, who we live with, with whom we 'hang'. we looked at what contemporary photographers focus on, what they find relevant. from this we made some decisions about we think is relevant, and what it all means. we photographed. and photographed. and in the mean time...

we learned how to talk about our art, we built a gallery, we made a book. not bad for a day's work, eh-

ou est-ce que j'ai tort?

erbs covered bridge -----------------------------floyd and a fan

paula and i spent last weekend in ephrata [lancaster co] pa. we were invited to the floyd landis homecoming fundraiser in floyd's home town. floyd is the 2006 tour de france winner who is fighting to prove the p.e.d. allegations made against him last summer are false. [which they are] its a challenge of epic proportions, with david v goliath overtones. goliath in this instance is the twin-headed monster comprised of the united states and world anti-doping agencies. the problem is that in this realm of "justice" accused equals guilty. end of story. even if you prove, which floyd has, that 1] the test in question is a negative test, and 2] the test is of a different rider's specimen; well- accused equals guilty. its an awful travesty, but hope springs eternal that reason may win out over arrogance just this once. we shall see...

ho-jo's parking lot ---------------------------------cal, kevin, me, dave

i also got a nice ride in on sunday with cal yoder, kevin dykstra, and dave brower. lancaster county is a great riding destination, lots of rolling hills and scenery like the erbs bridge pictured above.

pourquoi l'ichat est meilleur que le téléphone...

my dad and i talk to each other frequently using ichat video. its a sweet deal. my parents live in bradenton florida, and with my schedule paula and i don't have many opportunities to travel all that way. so once or twice a week my dad and i talk and exchange family info, and when she happens by my mom drops in so say hello and tell me the stories my dad just finished telling me. my brother karl who lives in atlanta just got into ichatting, so now we can do a video conference call.

it is, how you say- très, très doux...

ah... lunch duty

does it get any better? the smell of ground beef and taco spice, beef and spaghetti soup; the incomparable look of turkey chunks and gravy. oh, and the slight hiss of the raisins as they fly past my ear. lunch duty lends an insight into true behavior- if you sit back and watch- just watch- you see the kid hiding inside the young adult. they let it out just for a bit, no worries, no homework, no preps or tests or quizzes - just food and conversation-

hey- pick that up...

à moi des wegmans suis sûr...

stopped in to wegman's for some last minute dinner stuff [fresh veggies and whatnot] sometimes it seems this is my life- an ever revolving circle from home to school to wegmans to home. i might be going out of town in a couple weeks- the floyd landis dog and pony show is coming to his home town in ephrata pa. we have a standing invitation to stop in to say hi- we'll likely take them up on it. not much else to report today [sigh]

remerciez un dieu de wi-fi...

spent a good part of the afternoon at jamestown physical therapy while mrs. kirsch worked out. its a nice place to wait. quiet, very clean, and its right across the hall from a coffee shop. woot. the decorations never seem to change though- except for the color- this month's theme is 'green'

i installed some opensource blog software (wordpress) on my [kirsch]web site while i waited. its really nice. it provides me with an opportunity expand my services for clients and do some low-key
testing of the software. if it goes well i try to install it on the s'western server and have an in-house blog server. after that i'm itchin' to try out some opensource discussion forum s'ware (phpbb2)

adieu... [b]mk

je déteste des jours de neige...

i hate snow days... we are so far behind already, and its not like i need another excuse to sit around drinking coffee. we still haven't critiqued our first two projects, and they are critical to the rest of the semester. we just set up our blogs on thursday- i was hoping to have them all updated on friday... hopefully we'll have the 'trees in snow' assignment complete this week... i need to get my grading done. okay- just one more cup...
