spent a good part of the afternoon at jamestown physical therapy while mrs. kirsch worked out. its a nice place to wait. quiet, very clean, and its right across the hall from a coffee shop. woot. the decorations never seem to change though- except for the color- this month's theme is 'green'
i installed some opensource blog software (wordpress) on my [kirsch]web site while i waited. its really nice. it provides me with an opportunity expand my services for clients and do some low-key testing of the software. if it goes well i try to install it on the s'western server and have an in-house blog server. after that i'm itchin' to try out some opensource discussion forum s'ware (phpbb2)
i hate snow days... we are so far behind already, and its not like i need another excuse to sit around drinking coffee. we still haven't critiqued our first two projects, and they are critical to the rest of the semester. we just set up our blogs on thursday- i was hoping to have them all updated on friday... hopefully we'll have the 'trees in snow' assignment complete this week... i need to get my grading done. okay- just one more cup...
for now at least, my plan is to participate in this project on some cursory level as well as serve as co-adviser. at present i intend to continue my portraiture series [the arceotype project], using the project participants as subjects. the idea is to create a likeness in a manner which will befit their particular chosen line of investigation.
i plan on using the [old]camera and paper neg approach, and the arceotype print process. these will be different in scope than the original portraits, which were focused directly on capturing likeness and clothing styles.
